Southside Art Center seeks a full-time (40 hours/week) Adaptive Skills Trainer (AST)  for our PASSAGE Program in Sacramento and Auburn.  2 years (preferred) experience with individuals with behavioral challenges required.  BA highly preferred.  AST supports and teaches adults with developmental challenges in an individualized day program.  Salary begins at $2,019 (PASSAGE) per month and goes up to $2,123 after six months. Excellent benefits and positive work environment. Southside Art Center's Artistic Growth and Employment Program is expanding their Recycling Division to start servicing State Office buildings come April 2.  SSAC has openings for the position of Recycling Job Coach. Some experience in the developmental disabilities field is helpful, but not required. A college degree is helpful as well.  This position’s rate of pay is $1,706 per month to start and then $1,782 per month after six months plus benefits including medical, dental and paid time off. The position is full time Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (35 hours a week).

This position is responsible in working with a group of 3 adults with developmental disabilities on training them to work at sorting paper recycling and collect paper recycling at community businesses. This position requires lifting and hauling paper with truck dollies (weights around 125 lbs.).  Driving a company pick-up truck through greater Sacramento area is part of this position so a clean driving record, reliable car and auto insurance is required. Partial use of a cell phone is necessary (use will be compensated).  The position will work with people in a self-advocacy model working on health, hygiene, and work habit training.  This position would be good for a self-starting, multi-tasking, energetic, and hard working individual.

Southside Art Center's Artistic Growth and Employment Program has full time & part time Lead Artist/Instructor positions available starting Monday, July 23, 2007.

Full Time: Ceramic Lead Artist/Instructor

Southside Art Center's Artistic Growth and Employment Program is accepting resumes for a Lead Artist/Instructor for their Ceramic department.  Position will focus on instructing ceramic and sculpture art to adults with developmental disabilities. Experience with adults with dev. disabilities is preferred but not required.  Teaching and motivating people to produce ceramic art that is able to sell in galleries and for commissioned art is highly preferable.  Resume and portfolio of art work necessary for interview.  Salary begins at $2,045 per month and goes up to $2,149 after six months. Excellent benefits and positive working environment offered. 

Part Time: Lead Musician/Instructor

Southside Art Center's Artistic Growth and Employment Program is accepting resumes for a part-time (16 hours/week + performance assistance time) Lead Musician/Instructor.  Position will instruct on Mondays & Tuesdays from 8-4 both days.  Position will focus on instructing and helping grow Southside's Music Ensemble, a group of musicians with developmental disabilities who make up a band that performs at various venues throughout the year.  Experience with adults with dev. disabilities is preferred but not required.  Teaching and motivating people to learn new skills in music and how to take their music "out on the road" is highly desirable.  Performances outside of normal work schedule will be compensated and scheduled months in advance (Ensemble performs on average 3-4 shows a year at this time usually on a weekend evening).  Resume of work teaching music is necessary for interview.  Salary begins at $11.80/hour and goes up to $12.40/hour after six months.  Positive team working environment offered.  No benefits offered with this position.
